Dir Write Avg (msec)

The average amount of time spent performing writes that bypass a buffer pool. The time is shown in milliseconds. Direct writes are used to write VARCHAR and LOB (large object) column data during disk queries, data loads, and data restores. A high average direct write time could be a symptom of I/O conflict. To see elapsed direct write time, check Direct Write Time (msec) in the Buffer Pools Details tab.
