Appendix: Deploy an agent package using the browser interface

Upgrade Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp

The latest version of Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp is 5.7.4.

Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp 5.7.4 requires Management Server version 5.9.1, or Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition 8.7.

To upgrade Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp to the latest version:

Download the following packages from Quest Support Portal:

•

Foglight for VMware version 5.7.4 (which includes the DRP-5_7_4.car, Virtual-VMware-5_7_4.car and Virtual-VMware-Admin-5_7_4.car cartridge files)

•

Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp version 5.7.4 (which includes the XenDesktop-5_7_4.car cartridge file)

Deactivate all XenDesktop and NetScaler agent instances.

On the Cartridge Inventory dashboard, install and enable the following cartridge files. Do not remove the older version of these cartridges. Install version 5.7.3 over the older version. The sequence of cartridge installation is important because of their dependencies:

	NOTE: After installing the Virtual-VMware-5_7_4.car cartridge, existing vCenter agents (VC agents) must be updated using the Update Agent button in the VMware Environment > Administration tab.

On the XenDesktop Environment dashboard, on the Administration tab, update all of the existing XenDesktop and NetScaler agent instances.

Activate all XenDesktop and NetScaler agent instances.

Upgrade the Integration cartridges

Follow the procedure in this section to upgrade an earlier version of an integration cartridge to the latest version. For details, refer to the following topics:

Upgrade Foglight for Integration

The latest version of Foglight for Integration is version 5.9.0.

Foglight for Integration 5.9.0 requires Management Server 5.7.5.8 or later.

To upgrade Foglight for Integration:

•

Install version 5.9.0 of the cartridge as you would a new Foglight for Integration. Do not delete the older version of the .car file. Install version 5.9.0 over the older version.

Once you have upgraded the cartridge, deploy the agent package. For a procedure describing how to deploy an agent package using the browser interface, see Appendix: Deploy an agent package using the browser interface.

Upgrade Foglight for NMS Integration

The latest version of Foglight for NMS Integration is version 5.6.4.6.

Foglight for NMS Integration requires Management Server 5.6.3 or later (Management Server version 5.6.4 or later is recommended).

To upgrade Foglight for NMS Integration:

•

Install version 5.6.4.6 of the cartridge as you would a new Foglight for NMS Integration cartridge. Do not delete the older version of the .car file. Install version 5.6.4.6 over the older version.

Once you have upgraded the cartridge, deploy the agent package. For a procedure describing how to deploy an agent package using the browser interface, see Appendix: Deploy an agent package using the browser interface.
