Insert captured images into CitraTest scripts

Next, insert the captured images into the CitraTest® script.

To insert captured images into the CitraTest script:

Place the cursor after the image description where you want to insert the image.

Click Click On Image on the toolbar.
The Click Image dialog appears.

Select the required image and insert it in the appropriate section in the script. In this example, the Click 1.bmp image is selected.

Click OK.

The code for that image is inserted in the script.

Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for each image that needs to be inserted. Insert each image into its respective part of the script. For example, the 1, 2, and 3 images are respectively inserted after the comments ‘Click 1, Click 2, and Click 3. The plus image is inserted after ‘Plus.

Insert the image you want to verify. In this example, the 579 image is being verified. Click Wait For/Verify Image on the toolbar.
The Click Image dialog appears.

Select the Total.bmp.

Click OK.

Compile the script

The following procedure describes how to compile the script in CitraTest®.

To compile the CitraTest Script:

Click Compile Script on the CitraTest toolbar.
After the script compiles, the Compile Successful dialog appears.

NOTE: If the script fails to compile, review script syntax and error messages. You can access the Trace Log by clicking Results > View Trace Log. You can also refer to the CitraTest User Guide, Chapter 5-Basic CitraTest Scripting Windows and Chapter 7-Playing Back CitraTest Scripts.

Run the CitraTest scripts

The following procedure describes how to run a CitraTest® script.

To run the CitraTest script:

Click Playback Open Script on the CitraTest toolbar.

After the script plays back, the CitraTest trace log appears with script results.
Next, you instrument the script.

Instrument Tevron CitraTest for use with the Foglight Transaction Recorder

CitraTest® provides timing functions to instrument testing scripts. Instrumentation enables the user to monitor the timings of discrete activities within the application, for example, logging in or getting an account balance.

To instrument a CitraTest Script:

Create a new CitraTest script or open the CitraTest script you wish to instrument.

Place the cursor at a point in the script where you want to start instrumentation.

Click the CitraTest Start Timer button.
The Start Timer dialog appears.

Type the desired timer name in Timer Name. In this example, the Windows® Calculator is used as the start timer function. Each CitraTest time results as a transaction in Foglight. Type Launch Calc in Timer Name.

Click OK.
The Start Timer (“Launch Calculator”) instruction is added to the script.

Place the cursor in the script where you want to stop timing.

Click the Stop Timer button.

Select the Launch Calculator timer name.

Click OK.
The Stop Timer (“Launch Calculator”) instruction is added to the script.

Click Save.
Next, you insert the script into the Foglight Transaction Recorder.

NOTE: Foglight Transaction Recorder does not support nested timers implemented in a CitraTest script. Therefore, we do not recommend this usage. However, you can embed FTR timers in a CitraTest script if this scenario is really required. This will result in a separate instruction in an FTR script.

The following is an example of an FTR timer embedded in a CitraTest script:
