Enhancements

The following is a list of enhancements implemented in NetVault Backup Plug‑in for Exchange 12.0.

Improved the configuration process for the plug-in. The first time that you access the plug-in the selection tree, the Exchange Server Configuration dialog box is displayed automatically.

DNPE-661

Added an additional option, Do Not overwrite existing Files, to Restore and Recovery Options, which lets you choose whether to overwrite existing files in the Target Directory.

DNPE-664

Added support for Exchange Server 2016 CU8 and CU9 on Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 2016.

DNPE-674, DNPE-702

Added support for hardware-based, integrated VSS snapshots for the Dell Compellent product line when used with a standalone Exchange Server deployment.

NOTE: For DAG deployments, hardware snapshots are not currently supported by the plug-in. If you are running a DAG environment, ensure that the software-based Microsoft VSS provider is in place and has preference over any vendor’s hardware-based VSS provider. Also be aware that NetVault Backup-managed persistent snapshots are not supported in DAG deployments.

Added support for Exchange Server 2013 CU19 and CU20 on Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2.
