Data Cache Physical Reads

This value reflects the number of searches of the data cache (expressed as a rate per second) that did not find the page in cache and required a disk read (a cache miss).

To determine how effective the overall cache design for this server is, wait until the load on a server has been normalized.

See the Data Cache tab on the Memory drilldown if the number of reads is high. Investigate the individual data cache's performance statistics.
