Changing the device view type

NetVault Backup provides two device view types:

Physical View – This is the default view type. This view displays the actual structure of the library, including all drives, slots, and entry/exit ports. Media are shown at their current location in the library.
Logical View – This view is centered around the actual media in a library. The device tree consists of two folders – Drives and Media. The libraries and drives are grouped as Drives, and the Media are grouped according to the Group Label.

To change the device view type, follow these steps:

2
Click Change View.

Opening and closing library door

Before opening a library door, you must issue the Open Door command from the WebUI. NetVault Backup puts a software lock on the library door to prevent anyone from opening the door without issuing the Open Door command. If you do not issue this command, NetVault Backup does not know when tapes are added, removed, or rearranged, and it may attempt to load non-existent media.

Opening and closing entry/exit ports

3
To close the port after placing the media, click Entry/Exit Closed. If you have placed a cleaning media item in the port, click Entry/Exit Closed with Cleaning Media to move the media item to a cleaning slot in the library.

Unloading or importing tapes from entry/exit ports
