How to move the UC Diagnostics database that is named by default SpotlightManagementFramework to a different SQL server?
In the steps described below OldServer is the server where the SpotlightManagementFramework database is currently hosted and NewServer is the server where the database is going to be moved.
Part A - Stop the Spotlight Services
Part B - Backup and Restore the SpotlightManagementFramework database:
Part C - Change the SQL Database configuration information on the Unified Communications Diagnostics server
NOTE: Make sure existing registry keys have been backed up prior to any changes being made
8.4.1 or later:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Quest\Spotlight Management Framework\Diagnostic Services
8.4 or earlier:
32-bit Server: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Quest Software\Spotlight Management Framework\Diagnostic Services
64-bit Server: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Quest Software\Spotlight Management Framework\Diagnostic Services
32-bit Server: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dell\Spotlight Management Framework\Diagnostic Services
64-bit Server: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Dell\Spotlight Management Framework\Diagnostic Services
Launch the Management Console. Click on the Spotlight on Messaging node. Click on Connect to an Exchange Organization. Enter in a Global Catalog server name and reconnect to your Exchange Organization.
Once this is done all existing tests will show in the console again.
Note: Ensure that the Spotlight Diagnostic Test Engine service account has DB.Owner rights on the SpotlightManagementFramework database. Otherwise the Spotlight Diagnostic Test Engine service may fail to start.
