Filter Columns

This topic focuses on information that may be unfamiliar to you. It does not include all step and field descriptions.

To filter a column

» Click to the right of the column header and select a filtering option.

Note: When filtering is applied to columns, displays to the right of the column header. A Filter panel also displays at the bottom of the grid that describes applied filters as illustrated in the following:

Tips:

  • Click in the Filter panel to clear a filter or right-click a filtered column and select Clear Filter.

  • Click in the Filter panel to enable or disable a filter.

  • Click in the Filter panel to select a previously defined filter.

 

Configure General Settings (Baselines Management)

This topic focuses on information that may be unfamiliar to you. It does not include all step and field descriptions.

To configure general settings

  1. Select Manage Plans | Baselines Management.
  2. Select the Configurations tab in the Manage Plans window to view and configure baseline settings for the selected baseline.

  3. Review the following for additional information:

    Baseline Configuration Description

    Auto capture SQL Plan Baselines

    Click the value and select True or False.

    Note: Selecting True enables auto capture of SQL Plan baselines. This is a system-level change that affects all database users and may degrade database performance.

    Use SQL Plan Baselines

    Click the value and select True or False.

    Note: Selecting True enables the use of Oracle plan baselines. This is a system-level change that affects all database users.

    Space Usage Description

    Maximum percent of SYSAUX space to use for SQL management base

    Click the value and enter a percentage for the maximum amount of the SYSAUX tablespace allocated to the SQL management base.

    Range: 1% to 50%

    Number of weeks before purging unused baselines

    The number of weeks that Manage Plans keeps unused baselines.

Export, Import, and Migrate Baselines

To export a baseline

  1. Select Manage Plans | Baselines Management.
  2. Select a baseline in the Baselines pane.
  3. Select the Export, Import, Migrate tab in the Manage Plans window.

  4. Select the Export tab. Review the following for additional information:

    Export

    Select one of the following:

    • Current—Export the currently highlighted baseline in the Baselines pane.
    • Selected—Export any baselines selected in the Baselines pane.
    • All—Export all baselines in your database.
    • Custom—Export the baselines in your database that meet the filter conditions applied.
  5. Click to select a file name and location for your export file.

To import a baseline

  1. Select the Export, Import, Migrate tab.
  2. Then select the Import tab.

  3. Click and select a file to import.

To migrate a baseline

  1. Select the Export, Import, Migrate tab.
  2. The select the Migrate tab. Review the following for additional information:

    Migrate

    Select one of the following:

    • Current—Migrate the currently highlighted baseline in the Baselines pane.
    • Selected—Migrate any baselines selected in the Baselines pane.
    • All—Migrate all baselines in your database.
    • Custom—Migrate the baselines in your database that meet the filter conditions applied.
  3. Click beside the Target Connection field and select a location for your baselines.

    Tip: Click to create a new connection.

  4. Click and select a file name and location for your migration file.

    Note: Creating a migration file is not required. If you do not select a file name and location, Manage Plans creates a temporary file during migration and automatically drops the file once it migrates your baselines.

Send to SQL Optimizer (Baselines Management)

You can send SQL text for baselines to Optimize SQL from Baseline Management in Manage Plans. You have the option of optimizing the SQL text in either Batch Optimize SQL or Optimize SQL (SQL Rewrite or Plan Control session).

To send SQL text to SQL Optimizer

  1. Select Manage Plans | Baselines Management.
  2. Select a baseline in the Baselines pane.
  3. Click the arrow beside and select where you want to optimize the SQL text.

    Note: By default, Manage Plans sends your SQL text to a SQL Rewrite session in Optimize SQL . Click the arrow beside and select Set Default to | option to change the default location.
