Domain user is unable to login NetVault Backup Server with correct credentials.
Following log messages are displayed on Windows based NetVault Backup Server, respectively:
On domain controller, check the workstation attribute of the domain user.
Domain user is unable to login NetVault Backup Server on Debian 9.
NetVault Backup Server displays following error in the nvavp-*.log log file:
Domain user validation failed due to access restrictions
Even after successful authentication, authorization is denied due to Group Policy Object Settings.
Set below parameters to resolve this issue in /etc/sssd/sssd.conf configuration file:
ad_gpo_access_control = permissive.

Could not get NetVault Backup name for <target-machine> |
NetVault Backup Server is unable to contact NetVault Backup Client on the target machine due to firewall configurations. Configure the firewall on the target machine to add the machine as a client. For more information, see, Quest NetVault Backup Administrator’s Guide.
Check if catalog search is not available on the client host. If catalog search is not available, change the parameters and their values in the catalog.cfg configuration file. You can now re-install catalog search on the selected NetVault Backup Client host. For more information, see, Managing catalog search.
