Adding and editing username rules

To add or edit a user name variable:

In the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Capture > Sessionizing Policies.

Expand Username Rules.

Do one of the following:
•
To add a new username rule, click Add.
•
To edit an existing rule, click its Edit icon.

In the dialog box, complete the options. For help with options, see Defining username rules.

Click Save.

Selecting URL prefixes from a discovery list

To discover and add URL prefixes:

In the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Capture > Sessionizing Policies.

Expand URL Prefixes.

Click Discover.
The URL Prefixes Discovery dialog box appears, and begins displaying URL prefixes in use in the monitored environment.
Optional—use the Discovery tool’s Search box to focus results.

When you see the domain names that you want to add in the URL prefixes, click Stop.

Select the check boxes beside the URL prefixes you want to add.

Click Add.

Adding or adding URL prefixes

To add or edit a URL prefix:

In the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Capture > Sessionizing Policies.

Expand URL Prefixes.

Do one of the following:
•
To add a new URL prefix, click Add.
•
To edit an existing URL prefix, click its Edit icon.

In the dialog box, specify the domain name—with or without subdirectories—that you want to monitor, omitting the server name (such as ftp or www).
Example: dell.com

Click Save.

Selecting ports from a discovery list

You can use the Discovery tool to detect ports currently in use in the monitored environment. You can then select the ports that you want to monitor.
To discover and add monitored ports:

On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Capture > Monitored Ports.

Click Discover.
The Port Discovery dialog box appears, and begins displaying ports in use in the monitored environment.
Optional—use the Discovery tool’s Search box to focus results.

When you see the ports that you want to add, click Stop.
You can order the results by clicking any column heading.

Select the check boxes beside one or more ports.

Click Add.
The selected ports appear in the table.
