Is it possible to use SSDM to migrate directly from an NSF file to a PST file without having Outlook installed on the machine?
SSDM relies on the Outlook DLLs to create and update PST files during migration. Without Outlook installed, these DLLs are unavailable, making it impossible for SSDM to complete the PST creation process.
To successfully perform the migration, Outlook must be installed on the user workstation. There are two potential solutions:
Recommended Approach:
Install the pre-requisite Outlook client on the Notes user's workstation as outlined in the SSDM User Guide. This ensures the proper Outlook DLLs are available for PST creation and migration.
Alternative Approach:
Set up at least one SSDM workstation with both Notes and Outlook installed. Multiple users can log into this machine to run the SSDM migration and create PSTs. After each user logs out, ensure the PST containing their decrypted mail data is deleted before the next user logs in and runs the migration.
Note: Extra precautions should be taken to securely delete the PST files after each migration to prevent unauthorized access to decrypted mail data.
