License FAQ for Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MNE).

MNE license usage is based on Domino objects

• Users
• Resources
• Mail-in databases

Migrating a Group will not consume a license.

A single license is consumed when creating an Exchange Mailbox, merging objects or migrating data to mailbox.  Performing multiple actions on a object will only consume the license on the first action.

Each user and resource is tracked by a unique identifier in the licensing database.

Remigrating a mailbox does not require an additional license, allowing for multiple migration on a single mailbox.  See solution 14920 for more information.

Licenses can not be reclaimed once an action is performed.

Once all licenses has been consumed additional user actions on new users will not be permitted by the application.  However, previously migrated users that have already consumed a license can have additional actions performed on the user's mailbox.

MNE license information can reviewed through the Migration Manager from the upper right menu drop-down list. 

Under the Licenses tab in the migration console, you can review:

• The current license information
• The expiration date
• License type
• The number of licensed mailboxes
• The number of licenses which have been used
• Update License to install another license

Note:

Any Domino archive databases associated with a mailbox that was already migrated does not require additional licensing.  However, archives that are not associated with a licensed mailbox will require an additional license.
