Migrator for Notes to Exchange contains Smart Remigration technology, so that previously migrated items are detected and not duplicated if they are inadvertently migrated again.
Migrator for Notes to Exchange keeps track of messages by using the unique Notes ID from the source that is appended to the message once it has been migrated. When mail is set up to be migrated, it will check all of the source Notes IDs and determine if they can be found on any target messages. If any of these unique ids are found, it will respond accordingly, depending on what is specified for the "RemigrateMode" parameter.
The "RemigrateMode" parameter can be located by opening the MNE Migration Manager | Edit menu | Global Default Settings.
[Exchange]
RemigrateMode=<#>
... where the parameter value is a single digit, 0,1 or 2, as follows:
0 (Update mode): If the program detects a duplicate message in Exchange, the message will be deleted in Exchange and then re-migrated from the Notes source.
Note: the Update Mode will only delete the message from Exchange if it locates the message in the Exchange Mailbox in the same folder it is now in in Notes.
1 (default): If the program detects a duplicate message in Exchange, the Notes source will not be migrated, leaving the previously migrated copy in Exchange.
2 (Delta sync) If the program detects that an item in Notes was modified after a previous migration, delete the Exchange copy of the item and then re-migrate it from Notes. If the source item in Notes has not been modified, leave the previously migrated copy in Exchange.
Additional Information:
Moving the message items in the notes to different folder does not modified the message items, hence the RemigrateMode=2 parameter setting will still leaving the previously migrated copy in Exchange.
Refer to How to add ini file parameters (22218) for details of how to modify ini file settings.
Note: If the messages had been deleted in the notes, when perform delta migration the message will still exist in target Exchange. MNE do not synchronize message deletion here.
