MMEX manual (console) and automatic (MAgE) switch fail with Internal DSA Error 0xe1000005 or Cannot retrieve SQL connection properties error pops up after installing the latest MMEX and MMAD hotfixes (4254726)

After applying Migration Manager for Active Directory (MMAD) hotfix (20190307), the following error pops up when launching MMAD:

Cannot retrieve SQL connection properties

Alternatively, SQL connection may work but manual (console) and automatic (MAgE) switches are failing with Internal DSA Error 0xe1000005

MMEX and MMAD hotfixes were installed in the wrong order: MMEX first and MMAD then, whereas the readme file for both hotfixes say:

• It is required to install the Quest Migration Manager for Active Directory update 20190307 or later before installing this Migration Manager for Exchange update in order that the product works properly.

To resolve the issue, please close MMEX Project Manager application and and run the attached script in powerShell on the MMEX/MMAD  console machine.

Upon running the script, please restart the MMEX Project Manager application.
