Some Sybase_MDA agents constantly spike host CPU > 10% above expected normal running values. High CPU traced to Foglight Cartidge for Sybase Stored Procedure sp_fgl_datacached_objects.
When the DataCacheObjects collection callback is disabled and the Sybase MDA agent is restarted, the behaviour stops.
Causa

The High CPU is caused by the sp_fgl_datacached_objects stored procedure trying to cache/read data from a large Sybase database environment.
Resolução
1. On the Sybase MDA agents exhibiting this behaviour, browser to the agent properties under Administration | Agents | Agent Status.
2. Highlight the affected agents and click Edit Properties, then click: Modify the private properties for this agent
3. Modify the Cached Objects - Minimum Threshold Value to 100000 and click Save.
4. Deactivate, then Activate the Sybase agent(s) and monitor for the high CPU behaviour.
5. The Cached Objects - Minimum Threshold Value can be increased based on the size of the database.
The value for the Sybase_MDA agent property "Cached Objects - Minimum Threshold Value" ASP setting is in KiloBytes(memory value):
1000 = 1 MB
10000 = 10 MB
Example: 100000, means show cached objects larger than 100MB.
Note: There is no recommended value for this property, but in some large environments there are too many objects and that would increase the CPU usage if the value is too low and futher tuning may be necessary.
