How to create a simple rule in VMware monitoring on Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition/Foglight Evolve (4262494)

Starting with Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition (FVE) 8.6, a new feature "Simple Rule editor" was added which allows users to create VMware focused rules.

1.       Log in to the Foglight browser interface.

2.       Ensure that the navigation panel is open.

3.       To open the navigation panel, click the right-facing arrow on the left.

4.       On the navigation panel, under Homes, click VMware Environment.

5.       The VMware Environment dashboard opens.

6.       Click Administration tab then Rule Configuration icon

7.       Click Add Simple Rule

8.       Provide a rule name and select which object type you want monitor

9.       Select Metric

10.   Select Threshold or %Change

11.   Set condition

12.   Click Scope icon and select which object(s) you want this rule monitor

13.   Click Notification if you want add email notification for this rule. Email subject have this format

[Foglight]" + "(the severity level, fatal, critical, warning + Alarm)" + the Rule Name
