Barracuda and Sonicwall web filter issues detecting SLUSER account instead of actual account.
Customer with SONICWALL or Barracuda web filter devices notice that the “SLUser” account is identified as accessing the internet instead of the actual interactively logged user.
Workstations contact domain controllers for purposes other than an interactive logon. Some web filters use the logs on the domain controllers to detect the logged on user but they don’t filter it appropriately to return only the interactive logged on user.
This is an issue with the SONICWALL or BARRACUDA device and the issue needs to be resolved by changing its configuration.
In SONICWALL or Barracuda web filter:
Click on Users/Groups | Authentication and scroll to the bottom. Add the specified “SLUser” (the domain user account entered into the ScriptLogic service) to exempt this user name.
