DR Series Product Notification

Thank you for being a Quest Data Protection customer. We want to make sure you have continued support and that you remain protected. If you own one or more DR Series Appliances, the DR Appliance Hardware has a maximum 5 years of warranty support from the date of purchase. As a reminder, the final end of life dates are:

  • DR4100 & DR6000 31-May-2021
  • DR4300 & DR6300 31-July-2023 

After this date, technical support will no longer be available for this product.  

What you need to do:

You have 3 options available to you. 

  • Upgrade to QoreStor on a new server and replicate your data from your DR Appliance to your new QoreStor Server.
    • This is the best option as you will get hardware support from your chosen hardware vendor and software support from Quest.
    • This simplifies the data migration as QoreStor is based on DR Appliance technology but with lots of new features.
    • QoreStor runs on platforms from most major hardware vendors as well as in a Virtual Machine, on-prem or in cloud, you can choose the best fit for your needs.
  • Do an in-place conversion to QoreStor and use a third party support company.
    • This option provides you with Software support from Quest and hardware support from your chosen third party supplier.
    • You won’t have to move your data as it’s all held in-place and you can take advantage of QoreStor’s new features.
    • If you want to move to newer hardware later, you can transfer your QoreStor license.
  • Don’t change  - you will no longer have support for either hardware or software on your appliance. 
    • This means that you will no longer be able to get support on the DR appliance when it goes end-of-life.
    • You won’t be able to leverage the new technology that QoreStor provides.
