The Inventory service required on all KACE Agents collects system information, this is used by the connection broker to determine the machine status. This information is read directly from the host’s WMI, if there is a problem with WMI then the data collection fails and the host will be declared unavailable in the Machine Console.

Before you begin troubleshooting problems with the WMI service, it is strongly recommended that you run the WMI Diagnosis Utility. You should always run this utility before making any changes to the WMI service.
