Viewing information about your Enterprise Reporter configuration

Understanding your system setup can be useful when troubleshooting. You can use the Information page to determine where your console, Reporter server and Reporter database are hosted, what port the server is using to communicate, your software version, and other similar information you may find helpful in resolving issues.

To view system information in the Report Manager

•

Click the System Information tab.

Troubleshooting Issues with SSRS

The following table outlines other issues that you may encounter using SSRS.

Table 43. Troubleshooting SSRS Issues

When attempting to load the SSRS website, the main pane just displays "Loading..."

This may be the result of the SSRS web site not being in a trusted zone, or Internet Explorer Compatibility mode being disabled.

Please try the following:

Open Internet Explorer | Internet Options | Security tab.

Select Local Intranet at the top.

Click the Sites button.

Add an entry for the server hosting SSRS.

For example, http://server_name.

Add an entry for the SQL server that has reporting services.

For example, http://SQL_server_name.

Ensure that Compatibility mode is enabled for SSRS site:

Visit SSRS URL.

•

Click on Tools | Compatibility View Settings and add the web page.

Ensure that you can browse to the default SQL reporting site, and that there are no errors.

By default, this is http://sql_server_name/reports.

What is Microsoft Windows PowerShell?

Microsoft Windows PowerShell is a Windows command-line shell and scripting language designed specifically for system administrators and built on top of the Microsoft .NET Framework. Windows PowerShell is included with Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2020.

PowerShell 5.1 is the version of Windows PowerShell that ships with Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. It's available for installation on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 R2.
