Backup Server Status

Spotlight attempts to communicate with the default backup server. The response back determines the state.

The default backup server is defined as the entry in the master..sysservers table with a "srvname" = "SYB_BACKUP".

The poll time for checking the Backup Server status defaults to two (2) minutes. Depending on the timing, it may take that long after starting Spotlight to show the respective status on the Home Page.

To stop Spotlight from checking the Backup Server status, select View | Options| Spotlight® on SAP ASE| Acquisition.

Remove the check from the "Poll Backup Server" check box.

Note: The color green indicates the backup server is successfully connected. If the button is grayed out, then it not in service.
