How to clear all entries / logs from the Core Console Events tab -
Description
You are interested in clearing / removing all recorded events from the Rapid Recovery Core's Events tab. -
Cause
For business purposes, compliance, or any other reason, you are required to delete all registered events that were performed by the Core. -
Resolution
To achieve deleting all recorded event entries, do the following:
NOTE: If unsure how to stop and start the Core service appropriately, please check How to Stop and Start the Core Service
- Log in to the Core server itself with a local or domain administrator account
- Stop the Core service and make sure the MongoDB service was stopped as well; if not, then manually stop it
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\AppRecovery\EventsDatabase
- Delete all files inside except for the folders
- Enter each individual folder (admin, journal, local, RapidRecovery) and delete all files inside except for the folders, if any are present
- Start the Core service
Check the Events tab in the Core GUI, it should be clear without any events except for the repository maintenance that just ran after the Core service was recently started.
