Linux: Unable to start the Rapid Recovery service on init Debian 8 machines -
Description
If you have installed the init system and replaced the systemD service unit system, on your Debian 8 machine, then you will run into an issue where the Rapid Recovery Service does not start properly. -
Cause
This issue occurs because the Rapid Recovery agent for Debian 8 defaults to SystemD service unit system as the default service that gets installed, since Debian 8 also defaults to this startup system.
This has been identified as Defect D-35818.

Resolution
To workaround this issue you can use the Debian7 Rapid Recovery installer package, that uses the init startup system which can be found in the license portal.
This issue will be officially fixed in a future release.
