This KB explains how to install or upgrade your Linux Agents to Rapid Recovery using a script. This tool should work even if you have AppAssure Linux Agents installed. There is detailed documentation regarding upgrading your AppAssure Linux Agents to Rapid Recovery in our Installation and Upgrade Guide, however, this tool can be used to automate that process for you.
Script guided Linux agent installation / upgrade.
For more information on this topic, please see:
1. Download the RapidRecovery Install Tool on your Linux machine.
2. Make the script executable with: chmod +x rr_install_utility.sh
3. There are several ways you can run the script:
If you want to install the latest Rapid Recovery agent but do not want to configure the agent. (You will need to configure the agent manually)
Example: bash rr_install_utility.sh --install-only
Install and configure the Rapid Recovery agent. Note: You should reboot after this is finished.
Example: bash rr_install_utility.sh -u 'backup' -p 8006 -f ufw
4. Remember to run the rapidrecovery-config tool as described in KB185069
Another feature of this script is that you can optionally use it to remove Rapid Recovery completely but still keep a backup of the AgentID. Also, this script has the ability to install the Rapid Recovery agent even if AppAssure is not already installed.
