By default the AppAssure agent detects if SQL or Exchange is installed on an agent. If SQL or Exchange is found, the agent uses the credentials provided by the core to query for metadata related to either application. Information gathered includes installation paths, database and log locations, version numbers, etc.

NOTE: If SQL or Exchange metadata gathering is disabled, no data integrity checks may be run on the SQL or Exchange databases (attachability, mountability, checksum, etc.). Log truncation also cannot be performed when metadata gathering is disabled.
