Issue happens during the Toad for Oracle installation.
License Key is new, correct, and valid, but still gets the error:
"You must enter a valid license and site message in order to continue".
After you paste in your 'License Key' and 'Site Message' in the two field boxes, please ensure you click first the 'Add' button.
If you go straight to clicking the 'Next' button, you will get the aforementioned error.
NOTE: If even after clicking on the 'ADD' button instead of 'NEXT', and you still get the same aforementioned error, the problem may be with inputting an incorrect license key set. The 'License Key' is a long alpha-numeric key (this is not the same as 'License Number'), and the 'Site Message' is usually your company name in all caps. Please ensure you are entering your key set accurately as it is case and space sensitive.
If it still does not work and you have your complete license key set, please open a 'Support SR' case via https://support.quest.com/create-service-request.
If you do not have your complete license key set, please request that your license key set be re-sent to you by opening a 'License SR' case via https://support.quest.com/contact-us/licensing -OR- you can try the self service License Retrieval site at http://license.quest.com/tims/keyRetrieval.do (use this site if you have your 'License Number', which is 9 digits).
You can also call 949-754-8000 if you could not open a case online.
NOTE: If you are upgrading your Toad, your existing license key set should already be in your machine and should already be detected by Toad (your license info will already show at the bottom half of the license input screen). In this case, please just click on the NEXT button to continue... there would be no need to enter the same license key set again.
Enhancement request SI-684 has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Toad for Oracle.
