Toad Data Point 5.7 - User Guide

Recall SQL Statements

SQL Recall saves individual statements that were executed in the Editor or Query Builder so you can reuse them. This can reduce the amount of time needed to write code or execute frequently used, single statement queries.

For some providers, such as Oracle and MySQL, when you use F5 to execute all statements, all executed statements are saved to SQL Recall. For other providers only the first statement is saved to SQL Recall.

To add a recalled statement

  1. Select View | SQL Recall from the menu.

  2. Double-click the statement or drag it to an open Editor window or the Query pane in the Query Builder.

Troubleshooting: If you are unable to paste the statement in the Editor or Query Builder, make sure that the correct database is active in the Connection toolbar.

Tips:

  • To save a recalled statement as a Code Snippet, click in the SQL Recall toolbar.
  • To save a statement to use it in future sessions, right-click the statement in the Executed tab and select Move to Named. You can access the statement from now on in the Named tab.
  • To quickly filter a statement in SQL Recall, enter partial information or an asterisk (*) as a wildcard character in the field above the Executed and Named tabs.
  • To set the maximum number of executed statements that can be saved before previous statements are overwritten, enter a value in Tools | Options | Editor | Tools.
