Excel files open and display in two different ways in Toad: in a Toad document window or in an instance of Excel, depending on what module or tool you use to open the file.
To open an Excel file using the File menu

The file opens in a Toad document window.
Notes: If more than one Excel file is open in a Toad document window at one time, the Excel toolbar is disabled for the additional files. See Troubleshoot Excel® Issues for more information about issues with Excel file menus.
