The Rapid Recovery installers have a series of parameters that allow deploying, updating or uninstalling the software from a command line.
These parameters are:
/silent - Performs a silent install.
/noautoprereq - Disables automatic installation of missing pre-reqs. If a pre-req is missing, Setup process exits (only for '/silent' switch) with exit code ERROR_MISSING_PREREQ (40).
/noautoupgrade - Disables automatic upgrading of existing installations, if any. If an existing installation is present, Setup process exits (only for '/silent' switch) with exit code ERROR_ALREADY_INSTALLED (41).
/nointcheckonupgrade - Disables automatic repository integrity check after product upgrade.
reboot=asneeded - Setup will reboot the computer after installation completes, only if needed.
reboot=never - Disables reboots, Setup process exits (only for '/silent' switch) with exit code ERROR_SUCCESS_REBOOT_REQUIRED (3010) when reboots are required.
reboot=always - Reboot after installation, whether the reboot is required or not.
reboot=prompt - Setup will display a dialog box prompting the user to reboot now or not, if a reboot is necessary. If you chooses to reboot later Setup process exits (only for '/silent' switch) with exit code ERROR_SUCCESS_REBOOT_REQUIRED (3010).
lang=1033 - Set the display language to be used by installation. Default value - 1033.
/uninstall - Removes this application from your computer.
/fulluninstall - Removes this application, configuration settings, data (including all backup images and change logs) from your computer.
/? - Displays a message box summarizing the available command line parameters for the bootstrapper.
@filename - Reads command line parameters from the file 'filename', one parameter per line.
Command-line parameters (Advanced):
Rapid Recovery collects the following personal information:
• The IP addresses of the hosts that it runs on and interacts with
• The licensed email address
• The license consumption
This information is sent to Quest Software to:
• License the product
• Provide customer support
• Improve the product
• Enable the Data Protection Portal
A typical application would be:
1. Connect to the remote machine:
PS c:\>enter-pssession -ComputerName
2. Create a directory for installation
3. Move to that new directory
4. Download the installer
5.Perform the installation/upgrade/uninstall
