VMware backups slow when Plugin installed on Virtual Center

VMware backups slow when Plugin installed on Virtual Center.

When running individual backup jobs they complete expeditiously, however when multiple jobs run at once, they all slow down.

It is mentioned as not recommended in the Release Notes because when backups are running the Virtual Center and the VMware Plugin (which uses VMware's VDDK) can compete for resources.

The Virtual Center maintains its own database and coordinates snapshot operations and vm reconfiguration to accommodate HotAdd. If the VC does not have enough open scsi ports backups will switch from HotAdd to nbd/nbdssl which puts a much larger resource burden on the esxi hosts and is also slower.

Install NetVault VMware Plugin on machine not running Virtual Center.

As for configuration of the VMware Plugin and NetVault:
1) Increase the Shared Memory for the Process Manager on the proxy to 128000. From webUI Change Settings>Client Settings>client>Process Manager>Shared Memory (Kb) Used for Process Table (will require restart of service)

2) In case of NBD mode backup of multiple vm's reduce the Read Block size of the VMware Plugin.
