The deviceconfig utility is a console application that can be used to configure advanced device settings for all types of tape libraries and drives. This utility is automatically installed on the NetVault Server and Client machines. The deviceconfig utility is located in the “bin” directory under the NetVault installation directory. To use this utility, you must be logged-in with Administrator privileges on Windows machine and root user privileges on Linux and UNIX.
Steps:
1. Open a console (CMD or bash) as 'Administrator' or 'Root'
2. Navigate to \bin | deviceconfig --help

Example command :
The following command is an example of how to call this utility using three parameters:
deviceconfig --username admin -librarymachine <NetVault client name that owns the library> -libraryname "<NetVault library name>"
