Error, "ORA-02391: exceeded simultaneous SESSIONS_PER_USER limit", when connecting with a session (4230643)

I have a limit of 10 active sessions on my user profile when I connect. When I run several queries and if for some reason I'm forced to close out of Toad due to a frozen issues or ending the Task, apparently the connections are still active on Oracle because when creating new connections when re-opening Toad, I'll reach my limit of connections and receive the following error:

ORA-02391: exceeded simultaneous SESSIONS_PER_USER limit

WORKAROUND:

Have a local DBA manually release the active sessions on the user to allow the connection or allow the sessions to expire automatically.
