In KACE System Deployment Appliance (SDA) version 9.3, a new feature has been added that allows the appliance’s Samba service to be restarted.
Menu Location
Settings | Appliance Maintenance | “Utilities” section
Restart Samba Service: [Restart Samba] button
Procedure
When you click the Restart Samba button, a confirmation dialog appears.
Are you sure you want to restart the Samba service?
This will terminate all active KBE connections and any ongoing deployments.
(If you proceed, all active KBE connections and ongoing deployments will be terminated.)
Click “Yes” if it is safe to interrupt current operations.
Note
If the same machine repeatedly boots KBE within a short period of time, Samba sessions may remain active and prevent mounting. In previous versions, it was necessary to wait for a certain period (around 2 hours), restart the SDA, or have support restart Samba via Tether before retrying KBE boot.
In 9.3 or higher, users can restart Samba manually.
