To bypass the restore mechanism that will remove the supervised option, the restore process must be done from a different device, using a temporary device as previous used device will let the supervised mode to remain on new device.
To enroll the device with supervised mode enabled, steps below must be followed:
1) Create the DEP profile needed to be applied to devices, with supervised option enabled.
2) Remove all profiles on device to be enrolled, including the KACE Cloud Profile if existing, then create an iCloud backup.
3) Assign the device to KACE Cloud server, using the Apple Business Manager and assign the device to the KACE Cloud Server.
Note: Do not do anything else before finishing previous steps. The configuration will not come down and it will require the device to be wiped.
4) Assign the device to the DEP Profile in the KACE Cloud Portal, go to Settings | DEP Profiles | Select Profile | Devices | Assign Devices, a list of available devices will appear, select the device to be enrolled.
5) Take a second device (it must be different to selected device to be enrolled) wipe it and restore the backup created on step 1. Wait for this restore to end.
6) Once the second device is restored, backup this second device using iCloud backup, please wait until the backup is completely done.
7) Now that backup from temporary device is created, wipe device to be enrolled, while going through the Setup assistant, select the option to restore from backup and restore it from the temporary device's backup.
After this, the enrolled device should be on supervised option.
