The patch catalog changed after the KACE SMA 6.4 upgrade to higher KACE SMA version and rather than displaying individual patches by default, patches are grouped into package listing. This article provides the steps to switch to individual patches view and what are the benefits of using individual patches view. -

Steps to switch to individual patches view:
- On your left menu bar click the Security Tab
- Click Patch Management
- Click Catalog
- Then changing the view to Show: Individual Patches.
Additional note - View By: option in patching catalog also provides other selections to display patches by Label, Status, Download Status, Impact, Severity, Type, Year, Operating system or simply display All Patches.
Benefits of using individual patches view:
- When attempting to view a Patch Smart label, it is best to first change the catalog view to --- Show: Individual Patches | View By: All Patches --- before opening the label, this way you can see ALL associated patches on the label. If the catalog is in a package view prior to opening a patch smart label, you will only see what is included in the view and may not be aware that there are more patches.
- Missing patches in catalog: making use of --- Show: Individual Patches | View By: All Patches --- provides the option to list up all the patches available in catalog regardless their status, allowing KACE Admin full visibility of the available patches.
Note: When changing the list view in the patch catalog, it will remain in that view until the KACE SMA login session ends (log out or timeout of the login session). This change persists even if you leave the catalog and come back (as long as you have not logged out or timed out and had to log back in).
