This document is intended to provide an explanation and assistance, from Content Matrix release 9.3 onwards, to a user who is installing or upgrading Content Matrix, and they observe the following error:
“An error has occurred while deploying the SharePoint Database package. Until this is resolved, you will likely have issues creating or using database connections in Content Matrix. Please contact https://support.quest.com for assistance”
If this error is displayed, the user may observe issues with connections to SharePoint databases. In such cases, the user is required to run a utility in their environment to fix this.
This error occurs because the SharePoint dependencies required for connecting to a SharePoint database are not deployed properly during installation on the client machine due to rights or some other environmental issue.
User is required to run utility manually in their environment to deploy dependencies properly for successful connection and migration using Database adapter. The utility is copied onto your machine when you install Content Matrix version 9.3 or later.
Steps to be executed in client machine to fix the issue

Utility Usage Guide
This utility deploys the dependencies required for SharePoint 2007 & 2010 database connections, as well as for SharePoint 2013 or 2016 databases connections; whichever of these 2 was configured at the time of installation wizard.
This utility does multiple things, including creating the package from server machine using export action, deploying the package at the client machine using import action, removing or cleaning the dependencies using remove action and deploying all dependencies with the pre-install package using deployAll action on client machine. For this KB article, only “deployAll” action is used.
Metalogix.DBDeployment.exe
