"Cannot Open Service on Computer '.'" Error When Running Coexistence Manager for Notes Console (4378883)

When attempting to activate the configuration in the CMN console, the following error is displayed:

"Cannot open service on computer '.'"

Despite having local administrator rights, the error persists.

The error is caused by launching the Coexistence Manager for Notes console without elevated privileges. Even if the user has local admin rights, the application must be explicitly run as Administrator to perform certain actions that require elevated permissions.

To resolve the issue:

1. Confirm that the user account has local administrator rights.

2. Right-click on the CMN console shortcut or executable.

3. Select “Run as administrator.”

4. Retry the action that previously failed.

After launching the console with elevated privileges, the configuration should activate without further errors.
