Thank you for your continued support of Quest solutions. Quest Software stopped selling the DL line of appliances on 30-April-2018. This communication offers some suggestions on how to handle your DL Appliances as they reach their end of life.
DL Appliances reach their end of life 5 years after date of purchase. As a reminder, the final end of life dates are:

  • DL4000 31-May-2020
  • DL1000 31-May-2021
  • DL1300 and DL4300 30-Apr-2023

Before a DL Appliance reaches end of life, there are two things Quest Software offers if the DL Appliance is still under maintenance:

  • Extend support (up to 5 years from date of purchase)
  • Expand the capacity (depending on the specific DL Appliance model, expanding the capacity might not be available)

As the end of life date approaches there is a decision to be made: either replace it with a new appliance from one of Quest's partners, or move to a general purpose server running Rapid Recovery. Of course, you are welcome to continue using the DL Appliance without support, but Quest Software does not recommend this approach.
