One Identity’s Starling will change the public facing certificates on the 1st December 2019 to a new certificate authority. With this change, new trusted Root certificates must be imported into Safeguard’s Trusted Certificate Authority store for Safeguard to be able to communicate with Starling as expected. If you do not currently use, or plan to use One Identity’s Starling in the future, you can safely disregard this notification. A proactive approach should make this uneventful for all affected customers.
How does this affect me?
On the 1st December 2019, the certificate chain used to communicate with Starling will no longer be trusted and could cause disruption if your organization does not import the required trusted root certificates.
Workaround
Follow the KB article below and import the attached trusted Root Certificates in to Safeguard. These new certificates can be installed at any time prior to the 1st December 2019. When the existing Starling certificate expires and Starling switches to the new certificate provider, Safeguard will automatically use the new trusted Root Certificates to communicate with Starling.
Status
The next release of One Identity Safeguard for Privileged Passwords will include the updated certificates such that no user action is required.
