Version 5.7.5.35 contains the following new features and updates:

  • Add support for Cassandra and MongoDB in the database global view.
  • Provide Performance Investigator (PI) Advisories - Seamlessly, fully automated engine that continually analyzes application performance to identify performance inefficiencies. All advisories were developed by SQL Server performance tuning experts and have the following characteristics:
    • Detect and diagnose performance degradations, then provide steps to resolve them.
    • Incorporate wait event analysis to focus only on significant issues affecting database performance.
    • Evaluate empirical performance data to deliver both individual alerts and a coherent, step-by-step action plan to maximize database performance.
    • Guide the user through problem resolution strategies using context sensitive explanations, supporting analytic data and a comprehensive SQL Server knowledge base.
    • Optimize Application Workload:
      • Excessive Statements Re-compiles
    • Reduce Contention:
      • Table experiencing Lock Contention
      • Deadlock observed
      • Buffer latch contention
    • Address Resource Bottlenecks:
      • Excessive Memory Pressure
      • Excessive Log Wait
      • Excessive IO Wait
    • Review Performance Deviations:
      • Workload deviation
      • CPU usage deviation
      • I/O wait deviation
      • Memory wait deviation
      • Network wait deviation
      • Lock wait deviation
      • Latch wait deviation
      • Log wait deviation
      • CLR wait deviation
      • Remote Provider wait deviation
      • Other wait deviation
      • XTP wait deviation
  • Provide PI automated Highlights for fast performance analysis, to allow focus on the most significant dimensions that were relevant for the resource selected in the analyzed timeframe.
  • Enhance the Databases dashboard to provide high availability configuration for each database, including the last backup date on a mirrored server (if it exists).
