Top level tabs in the Tablespace Analysis drilldown

The tabs at the top level of the Tablespace Analysis drilldown are the Tablespaces tab and Criteria tab:

  • Tablespaces tabThis tab lists all the DMS and SMS tablespaces in a database or database partition. Columns in the tab show tablespace statistics, including time spent on reads (asynchronous, direct, and physical), time spent on writes (asynchronous, direct, and physical), content type, extent size, page size, space usage, and current state. You can scan this tab to quickly identify potential problems and monitor I/O activity since the last refresh of the Spotlight interface.—

  • Criteria tabThis tab lets you define criteria for filtering the list in the Tablespaces tab. Filtering allows you to narrow the scope of the list in order to focus on certain tablespaces. For example, you might filter the list to see tablespaces with the most I/O activity or the most used space.—

Tip: In addition to filtering the Tablespaces tab, you can use various display features to control how information is shown. You can organize columns from left to right, hide and show columns, and sort the tab by values in a certain column. To sort by a certain column, click the column header. Being able to sequence and sort columns in different ways allows you to quickly identify different performance problems.
