After configuring and replicating the USB/Port Security (USB/PS) settings. To troubleshoot this configuration on a user’s machine, follow the steps below.
1. Verify the USB/PS is installed on the machine.
a) An icon will appear in the system tray. (unless this option was disabled in the element configuration)
b) “Desktop Authority USB/Port Security” will show in Add/Remove Programs.
2. Right-click on the USB/PS icon in the system tray and select “See My Permissions”. This dialog window will show the current set of permissions applied to the logged on user.
At this point, USB/PS is installed on the machine and the permissions are set. If there were issues with the Installation of USB/PS or the configuration settings not applying, review the SLTrace.htm file. See USB/Port Security SLTrace Overview.
