Will Microsoft Deduplication help to reduce the size of Backups created by RMAD? -
Resolution
Deduplication definitely works Unencrypted Backups, both Active Directory (AD) and especially Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) backups.
Windows Data Deduplication works on a Block Level (not on a File Level), so Internal Backup File Format is not important.
