Quest Storage Suite 6.2 Setup returns this error while writing system registry values:
Error 1402. Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Interface\....
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel
Not related to Quest Storage Suite per se.
The user has access to the said registry key, but the Windows Installer does not.
RESOLUTION:
1) Open the registry editor.
2) Browse through the registry and select the entry mentioned in the error message.
3) Choose "Permissions..." from either the edit menu or by right-clicking on the registry key's parent directory.
4) Click the "Advanced" button to add a new user.
5) Type in "Everyone" as the new user and click OK.
6) Configure the permissions for user "Everyone" to "Full Control".
Afterwards, try installing the product again.
