In recent years, Microsoft has made a deliberate shift in how its Surface devices handle enterprise deployment scenarios. A key example of this change is the removal of PXE (Preboot Execution Environment) boot functionality from its Surface tablet lineup.
Attempting to PXE boot Surface devices, including models like the Surface Pro X, will result in error.
