Once the licensed seat count has been reached, new target systems will not be able to boot into the KACE boot environment (KBE). The home page will display a message when the license seat count is nearing the maximum count.
Steps to verify the number of seats for the appliance can be obtained by navigating to Settings|Control Panel|Registration and Licensing, this will display the number of seats licensed and used.
Scenario 1:
The device inventory has items listed for systems that are older than 2 years and most likely systems which are no longer in existence (decommissioned).
1. Navigate to Devices | Device Inventory and select the 'Last Network Boot' column to sort ascending by date.
2. Remove any old devices from the inventory which have been decommissioned or discarded from computer inventory.
Scenario 2:
The licensed seat count for the K2000 was increased in a purchase with sales, but the count on the Registration and Licensing page is not reflecting the updated seat count.
1. Navigate to Settings | Control Panel|Registration and Licensing, then apply the new License Key from Sales.
2. Remove the old license key, only one key can be applied to the appliance.
Scenario 3:
The number of seats needs to be increased, contact Sales to purchase a new license key with an increase in the seat count.
