The KACE Systems Deployment Appliance (SDA) has the ability to remotely deploy operating systems by automated installation or imaging. It also provides automated migration and configuration capabilities. The SDA is available as a physical or virtual appliance.
Recently, information has been released on a Samba vulnerability (CVE-2017-7494) referenced as SambaCry. More information about the vulnerability can be found below:
With this vulnerability, it is important to note that valid credentials to a writable share are required for a successful attack. It is recommended that your Samba shares have a strong and unique password to limit the success of any exploits.
A fix for this vulnerability is planned for a future release of the Kace System Deployment Appliance.
If the Samba share password needs to be changed to a more secure password, please follow these steps:
