In this What's New in 6.1 video, we will cover the new ability to migrate from one Systems Deployment Appliance to another.
There are a few important notes to call out, before demonstrating the process:
Attention: Not specifically mentioned in the video below, but the following is required prior to the migration process.
- Log into the TARGET SDA appliance webui, then navigate to Settings-> Control Panel-> Security. Under the Security Settings, check the box for "Allow SSH Root Login (KACE Support)". At the bottom of the page, click on the SAVE button.
- When configuring the linking information through the wizard, please use the IP address (not hostname or FQDN) of the SOURCE SDA appliance and the IP address of the TARGET SDA appliance.
- If SSL is enabled for Source SDA (Settings-> Control Panel-> Security Settings), please make sure the box (from Source SDA) for port forwarding is not checked (Apply Changes and Save if any changes are made) prior to starting the migration process:
- If the Source SDA backup is configured and scheduled to export out files, the "Database" file does not need to be exported. This file cannot be imported into a new SDA appliance. If the Database file is actually scheduled for backup off the Source SDA appliance, please make sure that it is cleared out from the Package Manager Queue (Settings-> Package Management) prior to running this migration feature.
