Setting the SiebelServer log information properties

Go to the Siebel Log Info set of properties.

Click the Monitor Siebel Server Log option button:

Select the Siebel Server Trap List that you want to update.
CAUTION: Do not use Add or Delete unless directed to do so by Dell Support.

Click Edit.

Enabled — mark to monitor logs for the listed item.

Search_String — the name of the text string, or error, to search for in the Siebel server log file.

Msg_Severity — the severity of the error message (INFORMATIONAL, WARNING, CRITICAL, or FATAL).

User_Message — a user-defined message describing what the error means to the Siebel administrator.

Click Save Changes.

Click the Monitor Component Log option button:

Select the agent Component Trap List that you want to update.
CAUTION: Do not use Add or Delete unless directed to do so by Customer Support.

Click Edit.

Component_Alias — name of the Siebel component alias that the Siebel administrator wants to monitor for task log errors.

Click the Monitor Siebel Crash Logs option button:

Type the full path to the directory where the Application Object Manager Crash Logs are located in the Crash Log Directory box.
In Windows®, the default location is SIEBEL_HOME\siebsrvr\bin.
In UNIX®, the default location is SIEBEL_HOME/bin.

Click the Remove ServerMgr Log Files option button:
True — to remove all generated ServerMgr_TaskID.log files in the directory per sampling interval.
Foglight uses the Siebel Server Manager to collect Siebel availability and performance statistics. Siebel Server Manager generates one or more ServerMgr_TaskID.log files per sampling interval.

Click Save.

SiebelServer Agent investigations

Investigating Siebel Server performance

Open the Sieb_Srvr_Overview graph view which correlates the Siebel server's cumulative response time with its cumulative utilization and throughput.

Investigating Siebel component performance

Use the Sieb_Comp_Statistics graph view to analyze the amount of throughput and resource consumption each enabled Siebel component contributes to the Siebel server's total throughput and resource consumption since start up.
