Synchronizing NetVault Time

This section includes the following topics:

About NetVault Time

NetVault Backup designates a Time Server, called NetVault Time Server, to synchronize time on the server and all client machines in the NetVault Backup Domain. Typically, the NetVault Backup Server acts as the NetVault Time Server, and the system time on this machine is the NetVault Time. However, you can designate any other NetVault Backup machine as the NetVault Time Server. NetVault Backup ignores the local time on the clients and uses NetVault Time for all time-specific operations, such as job scheduling, reporting, and tracing.
